Narcoleptic dream elements- Maze vs Mine

Here are a few examples of my work so far from my third year university project, inspired by the weird imagery created by my unconscious mind, as a narcoleptic. Many sufferers of this sleep condition have reported similarly vivid dreams (which are often not particularly pleasant) along with the ability to recall such dreams in a huge amount of detail, often years after they were first experienced. I have chosen to use this to my advantage when it comes to my studio practice and experiment with ways of illustrating what I have seen.

As you can see, there are two elements that I used more than any other. These are the Maze and Mine images, which originated from two separate dreams and somehow, in the earlier stages in this project, began to come together. Juxtaposing these very different elements creates an eerie, almost threatening feel to some of the pieces and I have played on this to help re-create the feelings I often experience in my dreams.
